Sad Goose Cooperative is an experimental multimedia website dedicated to creating works that push the limits of digital authorship. We accept pieces of all forms--audio, video, written, visual, interactive, and anything else you can think of--and aim to publish those pieces that make us smile. While we don't have many specific guidelines because we want to be open to all types of work, our general rules are these.
1. Anything over 3000 words will not be accepted unless the submission is in a digital medium, such as a game.
2. We do not publish full manuscripts or chapbooks, so submitting those will be an automatic rejection.
3. We accept files in any format, font, or genre.
4. Please don't send us an email directing us to your blog or website. We get many submissions every period and have neither the time nor the space in our magazine to peruse full bodies of work.
Submissions to Sad Goose are open all year round and are evaluated on a rolling basis for publication on the website. Publication is up to the discretion of our editors. We especially want to support artists who are just starting out or who have never been published before.
We are currently open to submissions for Issue #5.
We ask for First North American Serial Rights and First Electronic Rights for pieces that haven't been published before. What this means is that we would be the first place to publish it, but the rights revert back to the artist as soon as we put our publication out, so they can get it reprinted as they wish. For previously published pieces, we ask for Nonexclusive Reprint Rights, meaning that we can reprint something that's been printed somewhere else, but that if another mag also wishes to publish it, they can.
